How does PDT define an Afghan-owned business?

To be considered an Afghan-owned company by PDT’s standards, a business must:

1. Have a current business license issued by a Government of Afghanistan licensing authority. The most common license is from the Afghanistan Investment and Support Agency (AISA) and the Ministry of Commerce, however other ministries issue licenses;

2. Be licensed as a domestic (D) rather than international (I) business;

3. Be owned by an Afghan national(s) who holds 51% or more share of the business, as indicated on the licensing document;

4. Have a primary shareholder(s) who has a valid Afghan national identification (Tazkara or passport);

5. Provide copies of business license applications and Articles of Registration to be held in confidence by PDT (if accessible).
