A: Building Markets is designed to help Buyers and Suppliers operating in Afghanistan exchange information about business opportunities, as well as to be a source for market research and investment information relating to Afghanistan.
Q: Who can register on this site?
A: Registration is free to both Buyers and Suppliers of goods and services. Registration as a Supplier is available to Afghan businesses registered with the Afghan Investment Support Agency (AISA), Ministry of Commerce or another governmental institution. If your firm is an international organization or company operating in Afghanistan, you may be eligible to register as a Buyer.
Q: Who funds this website?
A: Building Markets is primarily funded by the US Agency for International Development's Small and Medium Enterprise program.

A: No, PDT does not provide funding or financing to other organisations.
Q: How can PDT help my company win a bid with an international buyer?
A: PDT gives all Afghan companies an equal chance to win contracts by providing:Please note that PDT is NOT involved in the bidding process in any way. Only the Buyer is responsible for awarding a contract.

Q: Can PDT introduce my business to Buyers?
A: PDT will register your business on Supplier Directory, which is the first way for Buyers to find out about your company. Personal introductions will only be made depending on a Buyer's specific needs.
Q: How does PDT choose companies for training sessions?
A: PDT has a target group of companies for trainings based on business size and qualifications. If you are interested in attending one of PDT's training sessions, please contact our Training Associate, Rawaj Dakhunda, at 0700 065 581 or Dakhunda@peacedividendtrust.org.
Q: How does PDT deal with corruption in procurement?
A: PDT is working with Buyers to make the procurement process as fair and transparent as possible. PDT is also increasing local business capacity so that business owners understand the process.
Q: How many Buyers does PDT give out tenders from? Who are the Buyers?
A: PDT currently receives information about tenders from some 50 international and national Buyers. Some of these include Afghanistan Engineer District (AED), Afghanistan Reconstruction and Development Services (ARDS), Bagram, the European Commission, and UNDP.
Q: If I register my business with PDT, does PDT share the information with the Government of Afghanistan?
A: If you register with PDT, your business's contact information will be listed on the Supplier Directory, so international and national Buyers can find your business and work with you. PDT does not share business information with the Government of Afghanistan but does require that your business be legally registered in the country. This can be done through AISA.
